Registration

Registration is an essential part of protecting your name and/or logo as a trademark. We can guide you through the registration process. For example, we will work with you to determine the relevant products and/or services for which protection should be sought, the desired territorial coverage, assist in filing the trademark application, and can apply for subsidies on your behalf.

Although the design of products within the European Union enjoys some protection without registration, registration as a design does increase protection. Registration usually also makes it easier to take action against infringers. We are happy to think along with you about this.
Grant for SMEs
As an SME, you may be eligible for the European 'SME voucher' grant. This subsidy is intended to help SMEs based in the European Union protect their intellectual property rights, including trademarks and designs. With the SME voucher, the costs for a trademark or design application are partially reimbursed. We will be happy to discuss the possibilities with you. We can also then help you apply for the subsidy.

Research

It is advisable to conduct a trademark search before applying for a trademark. This allows you to make informed decisions and reduce risks of trademark infringement. A trademark search reveals potential conflicts with older trademarks. A trademark search also helps determine the strength of the desired trademark. We can facilitate such a trademark search in several countries.

Monitoring

Maintaining your trademarks requires constant vigilance. Through trademark monitoring, the trademark registers are proactively monitored. Applications for new, similar trademarks and potential infringements are thus identified in a timely manner. FAQ

A word mark consists only of letters, without further additions such as color and font. A figurative mark contains graphic elements, but, on the other hand, contains no text. A combined word/figurative trademark is also still possible. In that case, word elements are combined with graphic elements, as is often the case in logos.

A trade name (also called a company name) is the name under which a business is operated. A brand name is used to distinguish specific products and/or services (of such a company, for example) from those of competitors.
