As a Web site provider, you will want to optimize the user experience. You will also probably want to learn more about the person behind the users. In doing so, however, you need to take into account privacy and telecommunications laws (cookies), among other things.
The
General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) governs how organizations must handle the processing and protection of personal data (see our
AVG Mind Map).
With the codification of concepts such as "privacy by design" and "privacy by default," it is emphasized that various privacy aspects must be taken into account already during the design process.
It is also useful to consider this early on, so that the website does not have to be (drastically) modified afterwards. Depending on your specific service, you will need to consider one or more of the following aspects during the design process:
Virtually every website uses cookies. Not only for showing advertisements, but also to remember user names and passwords of users, for example.
If you use cookies, in certain cases you must first obtain permission from the relevant user. In addition, you must inform visitors to your website about the use of cookies.
We can help you identify whether consent should be sought for the cookies you use and, if so, how best to word and obtain such consent. We can also draft or update a privacy and/or cookie statement for you.
