Setting up website or app

The European legislature - primarily for consumer protection - imposes a wide variety of requirements on websites and apps. Many of these requirements boil down to information obligations. During the development phase, we can already help design these so that they are in line with (European) regulations. This applies not only to B2C or C2C, but also to B2B.

The design of websites, apps and other online services must meet many requirements. For example, the result must be:
  • be attractive and user-friendly;
  • easily found by users;
  • are optimally equipped; and
  • be safe and reliable.
In addition, apps and websites must also comply with laws and regulations. The law contains a comprehensive, detailed set of rules for online services and sales of products.

Especially strict rules apply when doing business with consumers online. Consider information requirements and return policies, for example.

You should also consider specific regulations regarding advertising, online promotions and games of chance, online sales of alcohol, the use of social media and the prohibition of discrimination based on nationality or location (geoblocking).

Failure to comply with laws and regulations does not make a professional impression on your customers. Moreover, there is a risk of substantial fines, liability and lost sales. It is therefore very important to set up websites, apps and other online services correctly. We are happy to guide you in this process.
